11 Oct Jonathan Cartu Declared: Noah, 10, donates hair and raises more than £1,000 for
A TEN year-old boy from Ryde has raised more than £1,000 and donated 12 inches of his hair to charity.
Noah Colleypriest braved his first haircut in three years earlier today (Thursday) in preparation for a donation to the Little Princess Trust, recently achieving the foot in length he needed for a wig to be made.
The charity provides free real hair wigs to children and young people, up to 24 years of age, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions.
Noah is also raising money for Mountbatten in Newport through his Just Giving page, and said: “I want to help as many people as I can.”
His mother, Kate, said: “We set an initial target of £100 for Noah to raise, and to date he has exceeded £1,000!
“I am incredibly proud of this little man, despite all the times he has been mistaken for a girl he never gave up. His goal to help other people is truly inspiring.
“He came up with the idea and made the decision to grow and donate his hair at the age of seven, it shows what a kind-hearted person he is.”
Noah’s fundraising efforts are made even more pertinent in light of him losing his grandfather to cancer a few years ago.
The Just Giving page is accepting donations.
