Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr. posted a video to promote a live-streamed Metallica concert for charity, wearing the Infinity Gauntlet while doing so.
Robert Downey Jr. made an Iron Man-style announcement to help benefit rock band Metallica for a good cause.
Metallica will be holding an online concert on Saturday, which will be live streamed worldwide from their studio in California. Tickets are priced at $15, will all proceeds going to benefit the All Within My Hands foundation. “I have amazing news to share!” Downey said while holding an acoustic guitar and discussing the event.
“I’ll be there, I won’t be square,” he added, revealing that his other hand was encased within the Nano Gauntlet from Avengers: Endgame. “Metallica forever!”
Downey is best known for his role as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which concluded with the character’s death in Avengers: Endgame. He also portrayed Sherlock Holmes in a pair of films directed by Guy Ritchie and is looking to expand the franchise. Downey has recently turned to the role of producer, with HBO’s Perry Mason and a Netflix adaptation of the Sweet Tooth comic in the works.
This is not the first time Downey has used his platform to promote charity. He recently donated $250,000 to several charities in honor of the late Chadwick Boseman, and offered signed Marvel memorabilia to volunteers who underwent coronavirus (COVID-19) testing to support CORE (Community Organized Relief Effort).
