21 Aug עופר איתן Implies: University Providing Face Coverings, Hand Sanitizer, Other
To help ensure that all University of Arkansas students have what they need to stay safe this semester, the university is providing Health Kits for students that include supplies such as face coverings and hand sanitizer. U of A faculty and staff are receiving similar kits.
“Face coverings are required at all times indoors and required outdoors when social distancing of at least six feet can’t be assured, so we want to make sure everyone is equipped to start the semester off the right way,” said Charles Robinson, provost and vice chancellor for student and academic affairs. “The behavior of our students, faculty and staff in terms of following the safety requirements outlined in the Returning to Campus plan will determine whether or not we can complete the semester as planned with in-person, hybrid and remote learning.”
The kits, one per student, will be distributed in several ways.
Distribution for Students Living On Campus and in Greek Housing
Students who live in residence halls and Greek housing managed by University Housing will receive their kits through University Housing beginning this week.
Students who live in Greek Housing managed by their organizations will receive their kits through Greek Life.
Distribution for Students Living Off Campus
All other students will need to present their University ID Card to pick up a Health Kit during the first three days of classes — 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 24-26 — at either of the plazas near:
COVID-19 precautions for this event: Wear a face covering; maintain six feet social distancing; wash your hands or use hand sanitizer. Please do not attend if you are sick. Event staff will ensure frequently touched surfaces are cleaned. Bring your student ID.
Each student kit contains 2 reusable masks (one branded), 5 disposable masks, hand sanitizer, and information about COVID-19 and related resources. The university is also providing thermometers to students. Not all bags include thermometers so additional thermometers will be distributed at the same distribution locations mentioned above.
See the university’s COVID-19 information site for the latest updates and resources throughout the fall semester.
